Personality traits

Eg; Allport's theory and Cattel's theory
Allport's theory (1897-1967)
Cardinal trait
Most of the behaviour of organism eg; humour sense.
Central trait
Few characteristic tendency which can be used to describe a person. Eg; honesty, kindness.
Secondary trait
Appear only a relative small range of situation.Eg ; attitude.
Mature personality
-is always giving something and loosing for others.
Characteristics of mature personality
1. Self- extension
- Our Personality extended towards love, concern and interest.
- will never be ego- centric.
- will have a defenite goal.
- friends help us to create mature.
- children.
2. Self- objectification
- knowledge of oneself.
- is capable of looking at himself objectively.
3. Unifying philosophy of life
- frame of reference.
-significance of events.
- experience.
-reconstruction.
